Stranded on a bizarre, hostile planet.  Broken and forgotten. A robot lays dormant, slowly becoming overgrown and inhabited by the plants flora, or at least before it took control. Now revived and corrupted by the planets intelligent vegetation, the now robot-plant hybrid must find a way to balance the two forces controlling them.

Fight through and endless horde, choosing to evolve your existing robot body or evolve the vines that infest you.  This game was made for the two week long BuddyUpJam (Winter 2024) Whilst not quite the game we'd hoped for (more info in development segment below) , its certainly playable!

Story:

The development of this game started well, but ended up being a rough process to say the least. Long story short, half the team abandoned the project and left us three to try and complete the game (2/3 having this be their first jam!).

The original game concept was a lot more ambitious than the final result, having 4 different evolutions that effected the players healing, movement and weapons. 3 endings were planned, each depending on the upgrades the player chose (Plant takeover, robot takeover, or a balanced/neutral ending). If you are curious about the games concept, you can view the full design document here for the game here! It includes all of the evolutions, some enemy/level concepts and more!

Well done for finishing this game jam despite having major setbacks! I can see from the design document there was a lot planned and although there would be a lot of work to do to implement all of this now, I would suggest all of you work on bringing the additional features to life after the jam and polishing this game up! It's a cool idea, just a shame a lot of it has been left now due to unforeseen circumstances

So sad to hear what happened! The document seems full of ideas and potential. It kind of reminds me of Bubble Tanks, I'm sure that with some more time and practice it could turn out great, the more you try, the better you get at it.

Good job.  (^_^ )ノ

yeah, it was quite disappointing, but thanks! glad you liked going through the document, im sure some ideas could be recycled at some point :)

I love that you continue with the game even when the team lost some members, sometimes it is like that. Maybe it needs some polishing but it's cool to see that yall were able to implement the grounds for it. Also love the art for the characters!

Good luck on your future game jams! :D
